I love snakes, and other reptiles, and frogs! You will find a lot on my journal about caring for them, breeding them, getting new ones, etc. etc. Right now I'm mostly into Ball Pythons, with a side of California kingsnakes, Leopard Geckos, and Poison Dart frogs. I also have a pretty good sized Tarantula collection, with a couple scorpions thrown in for flavor. Within the next couple of years I hope to expand my Ball Python collection a lot, and I would love to expand into smaller monitor species such as Ackies, Kimberly Rock Monitors (I LOVE THEM SOOO), and Tree Monitors (all the colors, I LOVE THE BLUES AND GREENS BEST SO AWESOME) although that may take a little longer. I work at an exotic pet store so I get a lot of exposure to animals beyond what I personally keep, and although it doesn't pay the best I love working there.
I also love reading, mostly sci-fi and fantasy. Terry Pratchett is probably my favorite author, I also love Robin McKinley, Garth Nix, and Patricia McKillip, but I'll read pretty much anything that catches my eye. I am obsessive about books being adapted to television/movies (hint: they have to GET IT RIGHT), especially ones dear to my heart from childhood such as The Jungle Book and The Sword in the Stone (F U DISNEY, F. U.). I love sci-fi/fantasy television as well, but I have a short attention span and can rarely hang on through more than 2-3 seasons. After that I just read the fanfiction. I *did* manage to watch (mostly) every season of Buffy, although I have only the vaguest recollection of the last season (or two? were there 7 or 8 seasons?). And, FYI, I hate Twilight, so don't even bring it up. Maybe hate is too strong a word...I think it is so bad that it can be kind of funny, baffled by the amount of fans it has, but I don't think I care about it enough to hate it. Harry Potter is fine, I liked the early books more than the later ones.
I used to be a rabid anime fan, but now will only watch a show if it's particularly recommended to me. The latest ones I cared anything about were The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Dennou Coil. I used to watch Bleach and even Naruto, but my short attention span + super annoying filler episodes pretty much killed them for me. I find that I like anime that only run for one or two seasons, at most, more than longer running ones.
Well, that super long rant about covers it! Thanks for reading!
